BACKGROUND OF THE ASSIGNMENT 

CCs Social Research and Consulting, Lda was recently commissioned a consultant service by an Local NGO to support on elaborating an internal Gender Police; which has to include an Action Plan to address gaps on gender issues within the organization. The CCs is therefore looking to hire a local Research Assistance to provide general support and work directly with Project Manager on executing local required duties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following are substantive duties and responsibilities:

  • Act on behalf of CCs  as the main focal point of the project a Pemba and Cabo Delgado Level;
  • Work directly with the Project Manager to ensure that all of programme plans are implemented and in line with CCs and client’s plans.
  • Contact the client to collect, prepare and formulate documents required for the research to be carried on,
  • Execute all the local interview with the client staff and its partners; analyze interviews and report to the project manager in terms of achieving results, using existing monitoring and evaluation tools; identifies constraints and resource deficiencies and recommends corrective actions.
  • Be pro-active in canvassing suggestions for issues which can be fruitfully addressed;
  • Prepare invitation letters and TOR for meetings and discussions, and ensure they are provided with the necessary background documents and understand the unconventional rules-of-engagement.
  • In close consultation with PM, ensure provision of timely and quality technical backstopping by identifying the needs and sources for technical assistance and facilitating the provision of supports.
  • Ensure smooth communications between Client and CCs/Project Manager in the progress of programme implementation and facilitate regular discussions to up-date current situations
  • Carry out any other duties as requested by supervisors.

RECRUITMENT QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or BA (hons) degree in Gender or Social Science Studies and/or other related fields of study;
  • A minimum of 2 (two) years of professional experience in the realm of research;
  • Solid understanding of gender related issues and harmful practices issues – desirable;
  • Ability to liaise and affiliate with Government agencies, Development Partners, NGOs, CSOs, etc
  • Good writing and reporting skills;
  • Able to work independently under minimal supervision;
  • Initiative and sound judgment, highly organized and demonstrate ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines;
  • Able to work with a team, adaptable and output-oriented
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and human relation skills
  • Native of Mozambique and knowledge of command in English
  • Proficiency in the usage of computers and current office software applications
